Teri and I commuted in today been awhile. Trial work on Denmans tomorrow 4pm no matter what. If its raining we just won't mow anything, but we can still cut logs out and move debree off the edge of the trail for mowing. Meet at the pump station or thee entrace too Denmans.

Boone's Bikes, Beer & Blazingly Slow Ride Too Race Is A GO!

Didn't hit the taco ride last night as I was cleaning me Monkey and rigging up the BOB to pull her too Boone. Looks like Dennis and I will be leaving around 7pm...should put us in Boone if all goes as planned around 1am. Another wonderful commute in this morning:) See some of you dirt heads on Saturday and the rest of ya on Sunday!

Wednesday's Commuting Train

Just lovely out this morning mates!! Pulled the spin trike into work this morning so we could have our warehouse figure 8 races again. Johnny Conlan holds thee current record of 34 seconds. Grelk and I are planning riding up too Boone Friday evening, working/riding on Saturday, and racing on Sunday.... IF he gets his parts in....stay tuned if'n ya want some extra credit miles:)

We don't argue much at all but when we do its usually a blow out for a few hours of no talking, then the normal I'm sorry from the both of us and its all good. Ah the married life...it is what you make it friends.

A dry day to Ride In!!

Well dry for some of us:) Izzy and I rode out some black label last night, made it too 86th. Just a little putt for the legs...we hadn't rode into work all week with the weather or something on the plate that just wouldn't work with commuting in. Today is a good day. Foggy, cool and just plain ole' great morning for riding your bike, hell we wanted to just keep on rolling.

As you can see....this photo sucks and its due too the camera taking a komikozi flight of death to thee pavement this morning....fuck now we may need a new one and this one isn't even 8 months old....I believe its still under warranty....have to try at least:)

Hard to believe the last time we rode Denmans Woods was on May 13th......been a couple months and most likely another one before we're in there again:( That really sucks. Tossing around the idea of a gravel hundy this weekend.....

Ankeny Wiz Kid

On our ride home yesterday as we were riding down Delaware Ave by Walgreens I hear a "Get on the fucking sidewalk" remark and turn to see whom it tis. As I look the young man whom yelled is turning into Karl's Chevy.....well sweet I'll follow this bright individual in and ask why I should be on the sidewalk. As he parks I roll up and ask "Why should I be on the sidewalk?", while taking this photo of this bright BOY

he answers in a timid voice..."I don't know"....WTF?? Then say's to me "your slowing up traffic" in which I replied.."uhm Delaware is a two lane road buddy, if your to stupid to drive around me and my wife then I'm sorry, and you turned into here (Karl's Chevy)....We didn't slow you down"... With that I started to roll away..of course not before calling him a stupid dumbass....yes I stooped that low and I felt much better in doing so. When I got 2 rows of cars away he yelled something and had his arms up....tough guy you see:) The rest of the ride home was all good:) We stopped at a park and played for a little while...

Stopped at the shop so Andy could see how big Izzy has gotten, then boogied home to change bikes and head to the Taco Ride. A good night for the ride we had like 15 mates out.





the majority of us ended up at Giff's for beers and tacos. I have to say it sure is nice with no smoking in the pubs:) After a taco and a couple beers I was off for home. And did I have a surprise waiting for me...

3 gals. of some mighty fine swill. Marko's bruthernlaw is a good guy. I worked on his bike and look what he paid me with:) Purdy funny I had two beers last night after a good effort at the Center with Kent...and I was drunk...spinning drunk...damn whats up with that:)

Teri pulled the train in for today's commute...I was very greatful after yesterdays throw down:) I ate shit this morning too, was going up to the stop light to push the crossing button at Hickman & Colby Drive, pushed the button then started rolling around the poll back to the pavement when BAMB!! I was on the ground...WTH!! My front tire dropped off in a huge hole hidden in the grass....funny shit I tell ya...a monkey flip before work going 2 mph:) Oh well all was good on the ride in:)

Ok...this is just fucking stupid

These things are a joke if you ask me, I rode it for a few minutes....and about 10 seconds of that was fun the rest of the time I was thinking to myself...WHY? Simply just another dust collector. Now I'm sure someone out there thinks this thing is fucking Rock Star.
An awesome ride in this morning. Didn't get to ride dirt last night brought everything to the shop with good intentions of throwing down a few laps. We ended up with some late shoppers and nobody else showed up so it was easy to skip the ride and do the Taco Ride tonight instead:) An interesting find at the shop last night also...ever see one of these rigs??

Good Morning

A fine commute in this morning....a perfect 60 degree's when we left the house.

Izzy seems too think its early.....she's almost always a sleep by the time we get too daycare. When we roll by the shop though she's yelling "bike shop, bike shop".

Ever since the waters have went down to a reasonable level Teri and I've been seeing this little older fella. He's riding to Sycamore Access to fish....he's always happy, but doesn't seem to know any english.

We went out last night to catch some lightning bugs for Izzy to play with. Izzy wasn't the only one amazed by their lighting up. Bianchi sat there and clawed at the jar for a good 30mins, with Izzy just laughing.

Taco Ride tonight 6pm....HillSide and Roller Coaster via Dirty Express and thee Connector Trail. I'm not sure if I'll be there, maybe at the shop for a beer. We have to pack up the goods we're taking to Boone this weekend for Grandma's B-Day.

Rhythm Looks Rough...

Red line= where tread used to be on Rhythm....this is looking North towards the tracks from the sandy turn. Dirty Express to thee Connector Trail is open all the way to the trestle bridge....some debree but you can ride over it....well some can. Squirrels Nest isn't quite ready yet....we road in from thee old fire pit...made it to the first bottom section and its was wet. Another week or so. Taco Ride was all good last night. Andy, Sammy, Plunkett, and I rolled a couple laps with Sammy and I retiring at Giffs. Dirt is good....Roller Coaster is next.

Summer goodies are getting really close to picking time....black raspberries are the easiest to find, but I know a few spots where the reds grow....yummy, yummy, yummy!

Was thinking of a trailer ride to the fire works show tomorrow night at RRP....anyone else up for that....I believe it starts at dusk.

Ride Home....

Teri and I ended up riding home then going to pick Izzy up via gas guzzling vehicle....Teri wussed out on me. We were attempting a longer route to daycare on the way home. Purdy much ride back into the city and jump on thee Trestle to Trestle trail back up and into Johnston. We came off of NW 42nd on to Morning Star Drive and then jumped onto the Niel Smith via the little dirt road/path by the creek. Two trees were down but there was a path beaten in already around the debree.

No going past East Euclid with out getting muddy. We were starting the Trestle to Trestle trail in Targhetto parking lot, once too the lumber yard though it was obvious it might get rough. The city buildt a dirt wall all the way down the trail til MLK turns back west....this is where Teri said fuck it:) I'm sure there is still water under Beaver Ave too. So we didn't make it.

On the way home I did manage to get some casters off this cart for my SpinCycle project....I still need a fork then just weld'ur up:) Said cart has been here for awhile so I simply assumed the soon to be closed Hy-Vee emplyoee's have left it abandoned:)

CITA meeting went well last night. We met at Irina's on 50th and EP True....literally just off the black label. Thee Russian Lager beer was good although nobody including the server could pronounce its name:)

Heading for Tattoo Dans today....Teri is getting her eye bike.....and she's going with the not so hidden spot....that'a girl:)

The Pottorff family had a great one though:) Trail work on our lovely Center Trails Saturday morning turned out to be enough too open up a new section of single track, close many bad spider shoots, and build/replace the bridges....now go ride it:) Roller Coaster is still in cycle cross shape on the second creek crossing and a few wet spots at the end other then that it is ride able but not recommended. Teri through down 50 on Saturday...she said it was a windy biatch on the way to Adel:) Isn't it always:) After the work day Sammy, Rick and I headed to El Reys for some burritos, then Sammy and I headed out for a few laps of the HillSide too enjoy our mornings handy work. Sunday morning found Marco and I spinning more laps on HillSide then it was home to purdy much clean house and veg the rest of the day:) On this mornings commute..

I found my first freegan item worth picking up. A 30' pry bar....sawheat I didn't have one:)

Too bad this fellow missed the pond.....4 more of his buddies @ his size would make a sawheat appetizer:) Oh the day's of frog hunting back on the farm as a kid. I just might have to get some frog legs this year.

Slippery Commute

We roll around 3.5 miles of black label in the morning before taking to the streets. Every underpass had mud....sawheat:) I did have thee mud flap down for Izzy.....securely:) 63rd wasn't to bad, Center street was deep. Perfect morning for a ride into work. Hope too see a lot of mates out tomorrow....our trails need your help if your wanting to ride any time soon without having to cycle cross your bike during your HillSide workout. I plan on riding a few HillSides when said work is done with:) A new section of trail will need to be ridden in so come on out....and I'm sure you've heard the stories already about the KILLER MOSQUITO'S:)

9am POOL PARKING LOT, BRING ALL THE TOOLS YOU HAVE TO CONSTRUCT BRIDGES AND BUILD TRAIL. THE EARLIER WE GET DONE THE LONGER WE GET TOO RIDE!

Another Flat Tire...No Hundy.

Another rear flat on the way home yesterday....man....it was hot out there too.

just happend to be by the Casey's in the bottoms of Morning Star and NW 66th, so we stopped to fix tire and have a beer break. Did I mention it was really hot out:)

After racing home from our last beer stop, I went to the Center too meet up with Sammy, Andy, Justin and Ryan. We were preparing to battle the mosquitos for some pin flagging. We're closing the last climb on the hillside before the 2 big log overs. And adding some more twists and turns along with more length to thee trail in the newest makeover.
Looks like I won't be riding with Rob now, I'll totally stoked on the work day for the Center. Lots of bridges to be built, some new trail to cut in, and mosquitos. I mean come on that sounds like a hoot. Legs didn't feel good this morning so we drove....and a good thing too, we would have gotten soaked:)

Awesome Commute

Commuting don't get any better then this mornings. Being able too keep the smile on yer face and not let the couple assholes get to ya....man thats the shit:) Looks like I'm doing Robs night time hundy....although I'll most likely be closer to 200 miles when my day is done. Teri, Izzy and I will be commuting in Friday morning then going back and picking up Izzy going back home swapping bikes and riding back up too Ankeny for the gravel hundy:) And when we're done I'll be riding my ass back to the Valley Junction and passing out:) Saturdays bridge party for CITA and our beloved Center Trails is at 9am....I think I'll be late but I'll be there:)

Lovely Commute this Morning:)

Rolling the center of NW 54th now....just a damn shame we (cyclists and motorist) can't give each other a little room. That is all I really ask for.

Had a little time yesterday after getting home....seeings Danno hurt his shoulder and couldn't give Teri her tattoo:( So I jumped on the Grey Ghost and putted over to thee entrance to Denmans. Still too mucky to even try and walk back there so I putted on down too Dirty Express for a looksee of the damage Kent told us about. Lots of damage done too the levee of Dirty Express (above photo)....kinda makes ya wonder about the trail that had water rage'n on it for more then a few days......

lots of mud still out there too, I pushed on through the field piece of Dirty Express and it was shitty to say the least. Was so depressed I had to stop fer a tall boy sixer:)

Ship Wrecked...

NW 66th and Morning Star Dr. reopened yesterday afternoon on me ride home:) This makes Teri and I very happy:) It is quite stinky down in the bottoms though:( Teri gets her "Eye Bike" tattoo today....will she go big and get it on her arm...or hide it like a Lady:) Riding in tomorrow...then its Hy-vee Tri time...all weekend long....sun up too sun down...yippy:) Looks like the dirty weekend will be held in Omaha...stay tuned for details:)

Another great weekend:) Some photos from it are here Todays title is an understatement...first flat right infront of the shop. Back too the house then onto daycare into a 12mph head wind:)

After leaving daycare....time to start the 6.5 mile detour of our normal route....86th to Plum, Plum to Merideth, Merideth to 50th, 50th to Aurora, Aurora to Beaver, Beaver to Madison, Madison to Lower Beaver, Lower Beaver to Douglas, Douglas/Euclid to 16th, 16th to Madison, Madison to 12th, 12th to Aurora, Aurora to 6th Ave and now we're back on track.

Made it to work at 8:45....left the damn house at 6am....should have been here on a good day by 8:10.....oh well all is good now. With thee exception I'm out of tubes. Kyles Bikes here I come:)
