230 in 3 hrs....not too shabby for someone being there before me. Saw lots that had been picked already.....oh well still a good morning. I'll write a somewhat race report...in short I DNF'd due to mechanicals......still a great time though. And for the record I'm done racing for the year....I'm in horrible shape.

Nothen says country like a cast iron skillet full of Morels, a big ole' cow butt, and a cowboy hat:)

Mark up 110 more...we should have stayed in the river bottoms by Saylorville....cause BW isn't 100% yet. Lots of yellows in the bottoms but not in BW...this weekend will spark a flood a morels....I'm betting on it:) Looks like somebody wants to listen and you God damn right I want too talk about it, I'll be calling Dave this morning to see whats up. Iowa's Fungi Steaks

132 shrooms= 5.3lbs in 1.5hrs...once again soaked to the bone but smiling the whole time:)

Craig and I will be in Browns Woods this afternoon hunting til I have to go to the shop. I believe this year is going to be so good that I'm going to have to sell some too the big food chains and make some extra jack:) If you want some morels just let me know I'll get ya some. Creeks are out all over the damn state....trails will be flooded....more work for us now. Tis Trans Iowa (flood) season ehy:)

Riding Soo Goood:)

Saturday morning started with loading up the Trail Hog with the B.O.B., chainsaw, shovel, and a bucket with me 4lb. beater with wedge/other miscellaneous things for some trail maintenance:) Met up with Justin Bruce and Jeff Stegeman at the Denmans entrance, the plan... knock out all the dead fall/ make a new log run if it where feasible. After a couple hours we where done:) Photos and a video of me B.O.B.'n a log run can be found here, damn work computer won't let me link or watch it:(. After the maintenance run I went back home, then Teri and I met Steve at the West Port Lounge for some Bass Ale. After our beers where empty it was time to hit the trails again:) Ran into Brian Duffy boogy'n through Denmans..saw a ton of cyclists out....the Mayors Ride was going on also....photos here...just a perfect day:) After our loop was almost done we ran into Johnny C, Wade Thompson and Chad "Super Dong" Vanderlune getting ready to go tear it up. We headed out with those mates and bailed after Standard J-11...our riding was done...time too head to the mountains:) Sully's Irish Pud that is.

Sunday I woke early to head into Browns Woods for my second looksee for the elusive Morel.....

After me shroom'n, Teri, Izzy and I headed too Jordan Creek so some total stranger could poke holes in our daughters ears:) Izabella is one tough little she'la, barely a fuss:) Then it was time to head back too the Center Trails for some more work...as CITA was installing our trail signs today....I hung long enough to drop tools off...was raining and I wasn't prepared...thanks for all the work mates:) Todays commutte kicked ass a new personal record for me 17 mile putt-putt 1:01:00...I know I can break an hour if I would just leave home with that mission for the ride in:) Nah....then I would have to think rather then just ride along with a big smile on me face:)

This Time Of Da Year Rocks!

A quick commutte into the prison this morning on the Traveler, put the panniers on with me cooler on top:) Tis Morel season ya know:) Leaving right after I type this, heading into the woods for an hour....wanting 30 today.....or more:) Then its off to the shop to work. Have a great weekend:)

Morel Reciept....Yummy:)

Got a GREAT recipe for shrooms.... clean (DO NOT CUT) shrooms, then fill with a mixture of cream cheese, jalapinos, onion, garlic, salt, and pepper. (fill shroom by adding mixture to a zip lock baggie and cut off the corner of the bag and use it like a pastry frosting bag to fill the body of the shroom)-then roll in egg and then flour. Put a toothpick down thru the stem to pinch it closed-fry in deep fat fryer till golden brown and enjoy!!! the taste absolutly ROCKIN!!!
