Touring....looks like a great time.....and RAGBRAI Touring is sneaking up

I can totally see something like this in the Pottorff collection of bikes. I believe Steve Fuller has given us the jones to go for another 3 day ride ourselves. Teri and I usaully go for a bike/camping weekend every year but the last couple we just haven't had the time....Izzy:) Now we're ready and it just may happen on the weekend of thee 26th & 27th. After surfing this site the jones is on!

Lots of people running thee Cycle Sound system for tuneage on RAGBRAI. I know last year we sold at least 15 of them during the week. These things run $160 bones and put out a very nice sound from a small package, AND RIGHT NOW YOU CAN REGISTER AT BIKEIOWA TO WIN ONE FREE...DRAWING IS ON WED. JULY 16TH.
If that doesn't fit your budget you can always go with the IHome Bike to Beach Speaker System

fits nicely into your bottle holder and even has a bar mounted remote....how cool is that. Per a customer of the shops this thing emits enough volume for you and mates on each side of ya. If you surf the net you can get this booger for $46.99-60.99. More in the range of us poor white trash folk ya know:)

One more thing, thee Cycling Tattoo Gallery found its way onto a Backpacker Magazine blog.....its such a tiny world.

Peace

you're a fucking celebrity! ha. they got Riley trail pretty clean. not slidin' through the turns as much. awesome. I hear the connectors should be done in a couple months... gettin' sick of just streets and hatin' cars.

Back in the day (1999-2003) a friend would roll on ragby with a small boom box bungeed to his rear rack. The best part was he could reach back and flip the tape over and still maintain his speed and line.

Now that most people have ipods, hardly anyone hauls stereos anymore and I miss checking out what music others listen to. Now everyone has earphones on and you can't strike up random conversations with strangers like you could in the past. We are slowly losing a sense of community with ipods...

The tat gallery also made Bike Snob NYC. That's hitting prime time in the blogosphere!

Nice call on the stereo coolers. I think the Bad Boys are the only ones that still haul one of those things around.

BTW-I didn't comment on the pic posted long ago of you with the afro riding the little bike on the Chariton Classic. I witnessed that spectacle in person. I think it was either 2003 or 2004 and you were riding around the parking lot of that diner on the route with the awesome pie. I laughed so hard when I saw that pic and then realized it was you. Small world...

...and now for a commercial break. :) I'm kind of torn on the stereo thing. I didn't have one on my tour. I know they are a part of RAGBRAI, but I personally like hearing people talk and the sounds of bikes all day too. I wouldn't spend the money on one of the cyclesound units, but I won't turn it down when I win it ;)
