Decorah

Rode the trails on Saturday and they weren't that bad, greasy...but still mostly ridable. Saturday afternoon we spent cleaning our bikes @ Decorah Bicycles where I had the pleasure of meeting Travis. A young, passionate shop owner, just watching him talk to customers, or work on Scotts/other customers bikes you knew the man loved it! After we were done here we went out to the Pub where Shockey bartends. Ate some food had some beers then went back to Shockeys for sleep. I got up a few times during the night to pounding rain and awesome lightning. By morning the street corner was a swimming pool and thoughts of destorying another trail like I did just last weekend start creeping into my mind. I bailed on the race taking Ryan with me. We were back in the city by 11am. I called Kent later that day, he said the trails were in better shape during the race then they were the day before. Interesting for sure:) Kent took 4th and I believe Shockey took 3rd. I'll be back up there for sure! I ended up swapping the Reba SL out on the new Stumpy for my Bonty Carbon. Next up is the bar and stem:) Lots of rain here in Des Moines...looks like I'll be morel hunting:)

Peace

I bailed too. Got up saturday am and said screw it. I met Travis last year and have the same opinion of him. Last fall after the shop closed he set up a bunch of trials stuff in the parking lot for us and a bunch of other dudes. Had some brews and rode till I couldn't stay on the skinnies anymore. Decorah's got a great thing going. I get up there as much as I can.
