175 Miles of Black Label
Teri and I did our annual weekend camping trip this past weekend. Took thee Raccoon River Trail all the way to Jefferson to camp at Spring Lake just north of the city. Perfect weather all weekend long.
We made it to Panora Friday night and set up camp at Lenon Mills Dam, just a mile off of the black label. Saturday morning we awoke to a very spiritual scene on thee waters edge.
Whipped up some joe then proceeded too do a little yoga. Truly an awe moment in time. When we went back to the tent some strange dude was there asking for a ride to Des Moines and offering $50 bucks for it. I look at him then our bikes and wonder.....he don't get it does he.....he reeked of booze at 8am....long story short he asked a few people then went to jail.
We both came home injured.....Saturday night while busting wood I punctured my foot....and thee above photo is Teri just after eating shit on a loose gravel crossing. Just part of life ehy:) Weekend photos
Peace

good to see you back! I rode today for the first time in three weeks. man, that sucked. hope to see you out on the trail. that misty river morning looks like the morning of our canoe trip. awesome. stay safe.
Looks like good times! The fog pictures are cool, especially the black & white.
Mojoe
nice...
whats wrong with reeking of booze @ 8 am?
uh yeah... you can't drink all day if you don't start right away in the morning.
That Lemon Mill area is pretty cool. We spent an afternoon with the kids there once.
Did you check out the high water mark on the pole. Pretty trippy.
Scott...nothing wrong with drinking that early in my book. But being weird and drinking that early then asking the only mates in the whole camp ground whom road their bikes as transportation for a ride to DSM......
Bake....very cool indeed! We'll be back for sure.
Welcome back brother.
Sounds like you two had a good trip, hope you both heal up okay from your adventures.
WB Squirrel. Camping trip looks fun. Was that dam near a bridge on the sw side of town? Looking forward to heading to Whiterock in a few weeks. You and T are coming to that I assume?
