Projects

Rob should have me Race Rig done in a couple weeks or around then....so the Monkey and I will be tearing it up at 12hrs of Branched Oak...rain or shine....the forecast is calling for 50% today, 50% for tomorrow, and 40% for Saturday...but I've been assured by CVO that these trails drain well.....HHHMMMMM where have I heard that before:) Last Saturday before the virus kick'd me ass I started a house project...

this is our dinning room with carpet....who in their right mind puts carpet in a dinning room....ah yes....those that don't eat in the damn thing:)

carpet now gone....create more work....but nothing I can't handle....another thing....carpet layers....WTF!!.....do you bring you children with you to the job site.....there had to be 800 staples in the whole area...that blew ass.....the plan was to sand it out on Sunday but obviously that didn't fly.....soon....yes soon I'll get it done....then we'll have to paint.....never ending....no shit there:)

Hi everyone.....this tylonol is some dopey stuff...I'm sick now but it comes and goes

see what I mean.....I look just as perky as can be now:)

Peace

Squirrel: I went through this a couple of years ago. Use you a flat head screw driver to pull the staples or the back of the hammer. It works pretty smooth. Good luck.

Staples are out....couldn't really just leave them there for a few days:) Used pliers and a special pointed/ramped tool for those hard to get staples that a screw driver could get but usually screws the flooring up much more with a flathead. So I'm wondering how your wallet feels with the price of gas?

Peace

too bad you don't live closer, I re-do wood floors as a hobby...

no shit.

anyway, I'll call you if the weather takes a turn for the worse...

I'll be out there early on saturday, and I can call you with a trail update to let you know if it's worth the trip, but by the time I call you, you'll probably be on the way anyway...

Hey!
Hope you are all feeling better. Alexa was diagnosed with strep throat on Friday. Me on Tues! Guess some of the symptoms are nausea, diarrehea, and fever. In addition to the awful sore throat!

The floor will look sweet when you are all done! LOVE wood floors!

Paid $60 to fill the Audi up yesterday, guess that's why I'm sitting on the computer posting to your blog instead being on the road selling hot water to the midwesterners!! I see a different car on my horizon, one that gets more than 20mpg on the hwy. Ouch!!

grab a few beers, and skoot around removing the staples.
1st problem I see beyind the staples, is those black areas.. thyey don't sand out. if you want a picture perfect floor, tear it out and lay a new one. wood bleach doesn;t work either, how do I know this? I used to own a flooring company... you may be able to hide alot of it with a very very dark brown dye or stain. usually with floors that were very pet stained, a customer either recarpeted, tore it out, or we dyed it ir stained it as dark as possible.....
Black looks really nice when it's all finished..
or cobalt blue translucent, which also hides it well.
analine dyes are very strong, look into the wqater soluable dyes from dw lockwood

Personally, I'd build some banked corners in the dining room, lay down some maple or birch and velodrome that bee-yatch :D

we ripped up the carpet in our house in lincoln and found the same staples.

i'm in a similar boat to you right now. we ripped up the carpet on our austin house right when we bought it. i think carpet sucks period. and who the hell covers up hardwood floors with carpet?

we had some nasty lunchroom tile. laying down some laminate. stuffs pretty cool and and I can actually install it which is good. i'll tell you what. laying 300 sf of laminate hurt me legs worse than a double century.
