Weekend Riding Was Awesome, SS XC Racing Was Not

Great ride to Boone Friday evening, great day for trail work on Saturday, Sunday brought a very hot day of not good racing by me. I DNF'D 4 miles into the race saying fuck it. Cut the course back to thee creek, got naked and jumped in. No more racing for me this year I know when I don't have it and lets face it if your not training....uhm you don't have it:) Plan too do more bike tour camping this fall though. All photos from the weekend are right here. Great Job to all in Black that started, dnf'd, finished, crashed and survived!

our sunset on the way out of town was awesome, although this photo isn't the best

10:30pm beer break at Casey's in Woodard

Damn Squirrel, that's cool! How far of a ride is it to 7 Oaks? Sounds like a fun weekend no matter how the race went. I need to do some more bike camping this summer/fall too.

Exactly 50 miles...of some very loose and freshly graveled roads:) 32cc tires pulling around 120lbs of bikes and gear on fresh gravel = full use of said roads trying to keep it up right....I could have used another beer stop or 2:)

yeah, I would think that a bob trailer would be kind of sketchy and tippy with a bike in it.

really it wasn't, it was just hard to keep a straight line with my skinnies cutting through instead of floating. On the pavement it was smooth butter:)

Good hanging with you guys on Sunday man. I'll see if I can talk Miranda into doing the tandem and trailer for Saturday. If the weather holds true with a high around 80 it should be awesome.

You said you were done racing this year after Syllamo, now Boone. So, this begs the question: how many more times this year will you be done racing this year?

Just kidding, I know its tough for competitive dudes such as yourself to take a break.

You're still rediculously fast even when you think you're slow, so you've got that goin' for ya.

So, are you doing the 24 hour?

Still working on what is in store for our Saturday, but I am thinking of leaving from the house at 9:45 with my girls and riding to Adel. You should catch us just outside of Waukee.

Good riding with ya and letting the ladies meet on Sunday. Damn DNF's hurt the pride tho. Not sure if it was that, or that fact that Sterling beat me. :)

Looks like things are well. I know somewhere along the line you requested sauce and t-shirt and was just following up. Let me know what you wanted as far as sauce and what sizes in t-shirts. If you wanna snail mail payment thats cool, or paypal. Just e-mail me and let me know. Peace.
