If you tore it, you'd know... It sounds like a gunshot, and your calve muscle would slide up towards your knee (a buddy of mine tore his). You've likely got tendonitis, and need to massage that thing with some Ben Gay day & nite & take 800 mgs advil 2-3 times a day. Odds are 10 to 1 that's what the Dr./Physical Therapist will tell you. -Jed

Squirrel - good luck down there, hope you achilles starts to feel better soon. You'll do great as always. Talked to Eppen yesterday, Andy sold his ticket to him,(the one I sold to Andy), Eppen is going to tear that course up!! Should be interesting.
You should get a faux-rust paint job.
Why pay for faux when the real thing is free...
I would go with gun blueing, myself.

What Jed said: lots of ibuprofen. And active rest.
Whenever I've pulled my achilles it was from running -- undertrained for the distance or had a poor, fatigued transition between bike and foot...
Did you do any running at Landahl?
Also, how much influence do you think we'd wield in traffic if we got a bunch of daddies towing trailers down the street en masse?
whenever I had the achilles flare up, it was running as well. Often I could spin it loose enough on the bike to where there was no pain. I don't know much about the course, but if you can get it loose, you might be okay through to the finish before it tightens up.
Here's to it fading away before the race so you don't have to sweat it.
hey brian congrats daddy pretty cool huh? give me a call been way to long your cuz lonny 6412033718
