That's the way it always is, when you get faster so does everyone else :-) Nice that you shaved some time with a SS versus a gears.

Mike- Hanser wasn't there it's suposed to be Dennis Grelk

Travis- funny thing is I should have been faster last year as I was training pretty hard through the winter. Reason for my sucky finish is that I was wearing an overloaded camel back and it fucked my low back and neck so bad I was stopping and laying down trying to get some type of comfort.

Peace

and good job in your marathon race I forgot to post it on your blog.

Camelbaks'll do that to you. I can't remember riding without one though since I started riding in the desert. I've been known to throw 2 water bottles in my pack and a bottle or two on the frame in addition to the 100 oz. in the Camelbak and run out of water. All that weight's an excellent training tool :-)

Sounds like you might have been riding too much or too hard. It's all about doing the least amount of targetted training/riding to meet your goals (I'm reading the Mountain Biker's Training Bible again, thus the near quote).

Thanks - next weekend, next race. I get to see how well I can stand a short XC race now.
